Oregon — Sentencing Guidelines Grid (OAR 213-004-0001)

Level 11 is most serious, Level 1 least serious.

This is based on the TYPES of prior convictions you have, not points. Most people won't know this off the top of their head — that's normal.

Select a seriousness level and criminal history category above.

Sentencing Grid

Ranges are months in prison. Two numbers separated by a slash means presumptive probation (local jail sanction days).

Pilot build. Grid and category definitions transcribed directly from the official Oregon rules (OAR 213-004-0001, -0006, -0007, -0008), cross-checked against 3 independent official-rule republishers. Not modeled: Aggravated Murder/Murder 1/Murder 2, post-prison supervision duration, out-of-state conviction classification (OAR 213-004-0011), Burglary I's special classification rule (OAR 213-004-0010), and departure provisions. • Grid checked on 24 October 2026 against the Oregon Sentencing Guidelines Grid (OAR 213-004-0001) published by the Oregon Criminal Justice Commission: all 99 grid blocks match.
  • Measure 11 (ORS 137.700) sets mandatory minimum prison terms for certain serious crimes. When it applies, the person cannot be sentenced below that minimum, and that time cannot be reduced. This calculator does not apply Measure 11.
  • Grid blocks 4-C and 4-D: for offenders sentenced under 2011 Oregon Laws ch. 598 (SB 395), the sanction units are 180 and 90, with a mandatory 90 days of incarceration.
  • Under certain conditions a probation sentence may be imposed in grid blocks 8-G, 8-H and 8-I without a departure.
